The original church dates back to the 19th century, was expanded in the 1960's, and a new sanctuary added soon after. Since then the old chapel has been placed on the National Register and has become a desirable place for weddings, memorial services and other more intimate ceremonies. Now the church needs to make this chapel and the adjacent classrooms more accessible by adding an elevator. The addition (shown here in a massing model - the design is currently on the boards) will need to respect the historic church while acknowledging the newer architecture. Construction is planned for 2010.
